Harvard Medical School recommends that there are 4 steps to eat your way to lower cholesterol.

1.  Avoid saturated fat foods and trans-fats.

  • Saturated fats include meat and dairy products.
  • Trans-fats include all partially hydrogenated vegetable oils.
  • Check the labels on the foods you buy to identify these problem items.

2.  Get more soluble fiber.

3. Add phytosterols to your diet.

  • These are sterols and stanols found in increasing numbers of food products such as spreads, juices, and yogurts.

4.  Find a diet that works for you.

Include in your diet ‘Unicity Balance – Cholesterol’  to absorb the cholesterol from the saturated fats and trans-fats, and add fiber and phytosterols as listed above. The result will be lowered cholesterol including lowered LDL and triglycerides. The HDL will be increased.

Added benefits are managed blood sugar (control Diabetes) and reduced body fat (lower your weight).
